PROJECT‘Murawall’ graphics, White City and Oxford Street
The brief
To apply a graphic over woven bamboo textured wallpaper at White City, the latest and largest shopping mall in the London area. This wallpaper was already applied, but required a new ‘Hummingbird’ creative design applying directly to it.
The Oxford Street store also required a graphic treatment for a feature column. Both sets of graphics needed to be semi-permanent and not peel like many traditional cut vinyl graphics.
The work
‘For both these projects, we recommended our ‘Murawall’ product. This is printed directly to a thin but special heat-resistant vinyl, which then has additional adhesive backing applied. This innovative new product can be applied directly to brickwork and concrete thanks to its highly conformable adhesive.
For White City, we worked from a scissor lift to a height of 8 metres x 8.5 metres wide. The graphics featured large hummingbirds, a huge bull rush and flowers, which, together with text, were then positioned, carefully heat-applied and worked into the textured surface. We also painted precision high-gloss gold and silver to the hummingbirds to create more drama.
In the Oxford Street location, we worked from a scaffolding tower, applying the four sections of graphics in the same way.
The results
A stunning overall effect, both visually and in terms of trading. The client was delighted, leading to further sites receiving the graphics and more planned for the future.
