PROJECTThe Art Of Giving
The brief
We were asked to produce merchandise display units for the Christmas windows of Linley retail stores in Belgravia and Mayfair.
The work
‘The Art of Giving’ Christmas windows required the creation of oversized, wrapped Christmas parcels. We built units with open apertures to the front and back to allow merchandise to be viewed from both the interior and exterior of the store. They also needed to be large enough to house items of Linley furniture, especially their newly-launched ‘baby Aston’ chair and seasonal products.
Constructed from a timber carcass encased in MDF panels, the units had exterior faces finished in high gloss lacquer to match Linley pantone blue, and interior panels lined in hot orange glitter laminate. Chrome, adjustable down-lighters were incorporated into the ceiling of each aperture to light the products. Extra-wide satin hot orange ribbon was then tied around the exterior of the box to finish.
We also created a wall of various sized Linley boxes, closed and wrapped in orange ribbon. The colour scheme of blue and orange ran consistently through the store, with the store fronts also wrapped in over-sized orange fabric bow and interior trees dressed with dried oranges and cinnamon sticks.
The results
The finished window displays were gorgeous. Our client particularly loved the way they created a sense of “a gift within a gift”. The product lighting was also much admired, with a wonderful sense of glitter and festive sparkle.
