CLIENTNokia 2
PROJECTWindow and display promoting the new N97 handsets
The brief
For the latest Nokia Navigation campaign, we were asked to produce, install and oversee the design of promotional displays for the Regent Street and Heathrow Terminal 5 stores. The hero handsets were the N97 and N97Mini, as well as a teaser for the N900.
The work
To highlight the handset’s Maps, location & GPS capability, the main design featured a giant model, Big Ben and London cityscape. This was a major challenge to design and illustrate, but was achieved by producing a 3D build of Big Ben and mounting vinyl wrap to it. It featured a working clock with illuminated faces.
The cityscape images were printed to clear vinyl & mounted 20mm clear laser cut acrylic panels, lit from beneath within the floor plinth. The distinctive speech and arrow marks were then hung or applied to the display for annotation.
The beauty window promotes a teaser campaign for the N900 handset. For this we created a frame box to hold two, back-to-back screens. The images were cut with an aperture to give the impression of the actual phone screen.
Results
Considering the enormous challenges to design and execute such a display, the results were stunning. The Model of Big Ben caused quite a stir with admiring onlookers helping increase footfall into the store. The client was delighted, and is considering this type of display for future window campaigns. With this in mind, we have already scoped and costed several different 3D ideas that could produce equally impressive results.
