PROJECTWindow displays for Mount Street & Paris Boutiques
The brief
To produce a window campaign that did not involve any construction and would carry the store between the Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter 2009 collections. The execution was required for both the London Mount Street and Paris boutiques of Christian Louboutin. The campaign was based on the ‘graffiti shoe’ designed by freelance graphic artist, Sarah Boston.
The work
The design was created for the Mount Street boutique window based on the graffiti shoe concept. The windows of the boutique were extremely difficult to create workable artwork files for, due to the contouring of the framing. The challenge was to find a way to apply the design to the window and bring the concept to life.
We traced the glass and created an exact template in Illustrator, which the designer could then use to create artwork to fit exactly to the window contours. From this artwork, we produced cut vinyl in two colours for internal application. The campaign was installed overnight by a team of 3 specialist installers and a project manager.
Results
Christian and the team loved it! The windows were fantastically stylish and eye-catching and the campaign was then successfully rolled out to the Paris boutique. The idea has now been put forward as shop hoarding for all future shop fits and store openings.
