The Brief:
Visual merchandising consultancy, Chameleon Visual asked us to create a giant printed fabric backdrop for the TataNaka catwalk launch at Somerset House as part of London Fashion Week.
The Work:
The first challenge was creating scaled and colour perfect artwork scaling the wonderful fabric design of the garments scaled to create a 6.1M x 3.5M backdrop. The collection was modelled in front of the backdrop and the texture and colour of the backdrop had to be a perfect match to the collection. With the World’s fashion experts and media watching both live and on TV it was a challenge that McKenzie’s couldn’t get wrong!
Using highly sophisticated colour management software and operator skill and experience a massive cotton backdrop was printed in one piece and stretched over a timber stage built at Somerset House.
