CLIENTBarclays ATP World Tour Finals
PROJECTPromotional areas for the ATP, Wimbledon
The brief
2009 saw the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals being held in the UK for the first time. This unique event provides tennis fans with the opportunity to see the world’s top eight ranked players battle it out for the coveted title. Although familiar to hardcore tennis fans, the event was not as well-known in the UK. It was our task to create promotional areas at Wimbledon to ensure maximum awareness of this exciting event amongst all UK tennis enthusiasts.
The work
We created large format backdrops featuring foam mounted images of the current top eight ranked players. These were sited in the marquee and kiosk areas for maximum visibility and instantly established the high-calibre nature of the event and its venue at London’s 02 arena.
After carrying out a full site survey and recommending the most appropriate finishes, we installed the backdrops and created a pop up graphics system that could be re-used at future events.
Results
The promotional display areas received a fantastic reaction from the Wimbledon crowds. They succeeded in creating a huge amount of interest and awareness of the ATP World Tour Finals – and, even more importantly, increased ticket sales for the event!
