The brief
Artinsite’s bedhead boards are supplied to hospitals to create a cheerful, welcoming environment for patients, whilst incorporating useful, practical features to support the nursing team.
We were briefed by Artinsite to provide a production solution that incorporated design, functionality and safety considerations in a cost-effective manner.
The work
We produced frosted acrylic bedhead boards with a clear, crisp, modern look that presented the vibrant, colourful flower graphics to best effect.
As well as their aesthetic appeal, the boards were designed to hold important patient information, with features such as acrylic balcony shelves and dry-wipe boards to easily update patient details.
Safety was key to this project. The acrylic material was chosen for its hygienic qualities and, with an industrial floor grade over-seal, could be bleach cleaned. Stainless steel snake-eye screws were used instead of ordinary screws that can hold dirt and rust. Deep acrylic slides were incorporated for easy cleaning and the acrylic balconies were mounted on a series of small risers to prevent dust build-up. All slide-in boards were wipe-clean front and rear.
The result
A welcoming, practical, safe addition to the hospital ward, appreciated by patients and staff alike.
