PROJECTHoarding graphics for the Olympic Park
The brief
Following a tender managed by The Central Office of Information, we were appointed to supply graphics for the structural hoardings surrounding the 2012 Olympic Park, East London.
The work
For this high-visibility project, we considered durability, value for money and sustainability when considering a production technique. In the end, we opted to print directly onto 3mm thick hoarding-grade aluminium composite using our Durst 800 UV flat bed printer.
To deter unwelcome attention, each panel was then laminated with a polyester anti-graffiti seal.
The finished panels measure 3m high x 1.5m wide. We successfully installed almost 3,400 of them to make up the full 5km length.
The results
This great-looking installation provides a perfect opportunity to bring to life the 2012 Olympic story. The local community and the general public now have an exciting and vibrant way to learn what’s happening over the coming years, as the Olympic Park takes shape.
