“Print Ready” Artwork Guidelines
All artwork supplied on CD / DVD must be accompanied by a colour proof. Any artworks supplied electronically must be accompanied by a proof PDF.
Print ready artwork should be supplied in the following format.
Full resolution PDF X4 files with 5mm bleed on all edges at full size (please call for advice on wrap mounted prints or any print requiring specialist finishing).
Crop marks and registration marks should not be added unless specifically requested.
If the artwork is not full size, then the bleed added must be proportional to the final output size, as shown in the example below.
Wherever possible, the print resolution for images should be no lower than 100dpi at final output size and no higher than 200dpi at final output size.
All colours used should either be Pantone spot colours or CMYK process colours. Pantones will be interpreted as close as possible within the gamut of the output device. If the matching of any spot colour is critical, we can provide colour testing and proofs – price on application.
Files that require white ink printing (onto clear for example) should use a custom spot colour that must be called “spotwhite” and must be on a separate layer within the PDF.
Any printing which requires cutting to a custom shape must be supplied as regular artworking files (ie: not as a PDF) with a drawn cutter path (not selection) supplied on a separate layer.
On request a ripped pdf file can be supplied for approval prior to printing.
Artwork supplied in formats other than PDF unless agreed in advance, will be subject to charges (see artwork charges).
