Meet The Directors

Phil Jones – Chairman
Phil is celebrating his fifth anniversary as Chairman of McKenzie Clark in 2009. He also acts as a mentor to the board.
With a background in typesetting and typography, and a five year spell as chairman of the Typographic Circle, he has made many friends in the design world over several decades. He’s also famous for his infamous Podge Lunches, where he brings together the cream of the design, digital and sports worlds.
In the nineties he was one of the earliest adopters of digital, and is now the chairman of judges at the annual www.dadiawards.co.uk and a regular judge for NMA and Revolution. He was nominated for a digital lifetime achievement award by Net Imperative in 2008.
A quick look at the commendations for Phil on Linked-in would be a pleasant trip through several time zones.

Graham Clark – Managing Director
Graham became MD of McKenzie Clark in 1994 following the management buy-out of two long established photographic businesses.
It was while studying and then working as a photographer that Graham acquired his own in-depth understanding of quality colour reproduction. After making the move from conventional photo-processing into the digital revolution, he has succeeded in gathering an incredibly committed team of people at McKenzie Clark. It is his insistence on regular investment that has kept the company at the leading edge of technology.
Graham is also passionate about championing environmentally-friendly methods of production – an ethos which is shared by us all at McKenzie Clark.

Andrew Akerman – Studio Director
Andrew was the Managing Director of Tempo Typographics Ltd until1995. At that point, he orchestrated a transfer of business to McKenzie Clark Ltd and the creation of a new company Tempo Graphic Design Ltd.
As Managing Director and shareholder of the new business, Andrew worked closely with McKenzie Clark providing an in-house design and artwork resource.
In 2006 the transition was completed when Tempo Graphic Design became a trading division of McKenzie Clark and Andrew became a Director and Shareholder.
Andrew’s main responsibilities cover the design, typesetting, artwork and file preparation departments within McKenzie Clark.

Michael Dunn – Finance Director
Michael Dunn joined McKenzie Clark Ltd in 2007 as the Finance Director.
He has a great deal of experience with small to medium sized companies in the manufacturing and service sectors. Michael’s vast experience in finance and administration has added to the already strong management team within McKenzie Clark.

Colin Gibson – Production Director
Colin joined us in Jan 2007. Before then he’d been busy learning everything there is to know about the production process at a Display and Exhibitions company.
He has vast experience of taking projects from concept to installation, which he has done for many of the country’s top blue-chip companies.
Colin is a major asset, who’s been instrumental in our ISO14001 certification.

David Snaith – Sales Director
David joined us in 2009 after spending eight years as Sales Director with the competition.
He brings with him a wealth of client service experience, initially acquired in retail in the luxury department store sector, where he spent 12 years managing internal teams and external creative agencies.
David’s experience and understanding is second to none when it comes to implementing promotions and visual merchandising across all marketing disciplines.
He says of McKenzie Clark: “the team here is dedicated to excellence. Quality begins on the inside…and then works its way out.”

Ben Moss – Commercial Director
Ben started in the display industry back in 1989. From there he founded Jupiter Display as a joint venture with Photobition in 1992 establishing the business as the largest graphics display company in central London. Photobition floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1995 with Ben taking the role of Managing Director for the UK business.
In 2001, Ben with other key management completed a MBO of Photobition UK with offices nationally and 450 staff renaming the holding company Service Graphics to reflect one of the key divisions within the business. The company continued to grow and take market share to create the UK's largest graphic business with sales of 42 million.
In 2006, Service Graphics was sold to St Ives plc and Ben continued as Group Sales Director up until 2008 where he took time out of the market place. In April 2010 he re-entered the market place as an investor in McKenzie Clark taking the role of Commercial Director to help build and develop the business towards the Olympics and beyond.
